Wearing included gloves, apply Masque, combing through for even coverage.
- For rich color results: apply on clean dry hair.
- For softer results: apply on towel-dried hair.
- Let sit for up to 10 minutes.
- Work Masque into a lather and rinse.
- Style as you normally would.
- Use your Masque again when you’d like to boost your pigmented color or give your hair extra nourishment.

Pigment FAQs
How can I get the most vibrant color results?
To get the most vibrant color, we recommend that you apply your pigmented Masque to clean, dry hair from roots to ends. Then let it sit for up to 10 minutes, and if needed, do a light shampoo only at the roots.
If I leave my pigmented Masque on longer, will it change my result?
You can go up to 15 minutes if you’d like, but that’s the maximum amount of time needed for pigment to adhere to the hair shaft. Any longer than 15 minutes will not increase the boldness of your color or the amount of pigment. Leaving in for longer than 15 minutes may result in unexpected darkening.
What makes AURA pigmented products different from others on the market?
We are the first and only personalized hair care brand to offer temporary pigments. Unlike many pre-mixed products, our hair care products are made to order and are carefully formulated for your hair type and goals. The option to add pigment to your personalized care is completely unique to AURA.
I have darker hair, what can I expect with your pigmented products?
Darker hair colors will take our pigmented products differently than lighter hair colors. To get the best sense of what to expect for your hair, we recommend scrolling through our before and after images on our color enhancing pigments page. Note: Our pigments will not lift or lighten your hair color, or cover grays.
Will AURA pigmented products stain?
Our pigments are semi-permanent, so you shouldn’t see any permanent staining. Any stains should easily wash out of fabrics and wipe away from surfaces with a household cleanser.
